Is my nose broken and subject to surgery / being fixed if....?

I injured it and heard a mild crack, the swealling remains 5 days later and it is harder to breath not impossible but harder? I'm already scheduled to see my doctor but what should I expect? Are they going to fix it? Is it broken? Why does the swelling dot going down after 5 days?
